That depends, does A310Emu need mouse or keyboard input? Because the raspberry pi port doesn't do that yet, why not wait for an actual release of RISC OS for R-Pi?

RISC OS, too cool for Javascript.

Although I haven't used the Pi at all yet, I'm guessing that it will run pretty much every piece of software that is compatible with the Beagleboard/Pandaboard/ARMini.

I can't for the life of me remember if A310Emu is ARMv7 friendly though, I have a feeling it isn't.

There are two emulators by Jan de Boer, A310Emu and ArchiEmu. A310Emu is older and says it was last updated in 2007, so almost certainly isn't ARMv7 compatible. ArchiEmu is newer (2010), but still alpha-grade, and was barely functional when I tested it on an Iyonix - in particular, there was no sound at all - and I'm not even sure if that's ARMv7 compatible.

To summarise: One doesn't work and the other... erm, doesn't work. smile

I've had an email from Jan recently, and despite the fact that he has very little free time ATM, he IS working to make both the emulators Beagleboard-compatible.

The !A310Emu is not working, *BUT* the !ArchieEmu works nice!

I sent an email to Jan De Boer about the error that this app displays when running on RPi (not known SWI...).
Jan gave me these instructions:

Delete line 16513
change line 17395 to sicvl%=&740931
change line 20248 to R%?_sound_noofsamplerates=A%:R%?_sound_minrate=1.

then after this... the !ArchiEmu works like a charm! (w/o sound of course..)

cheers

With the latest ROM & disc image the Pi now has sound, so those changes shouldn't be necessary (I think!)

Unfortunately ArcEm doesn't work very well because it doesn't support 32bpp screen modes unhappy I've been holding off on fixing it under the assumption we'll have a proper Pi video driver available soon.

"latest" being the ordinary images you can download from ROOL's site, not the special Pi distro. I'm not sure when the distro is due to be updated; you might have to wait for the official release (around the start of September).
