Bloody hell! Thats was fast! TV-out allows you to connect your machine to the TV and have the desktop on that instead. Cheers! |

Does anyone know if they have the DVI out working? It would be really nice to get digital out from a RISC OS machine for driving higher-end LCDs |

Andrew> No, not TV modulators. The "TV out" from a graphics card is really just "composite video out" - not modulated up to UHF transmission frequencies. In layman's terms it means you don't get an "aerial socket" out the back of the card, you get a Phono or S-Video connector which goes to the SCART/composite-in connector on your TV. |

The socalled TV Out is, as is typical in the PC world wrongly labeled as TV-out while it actually is a composite video out. As been said: it allows to use a TV as a primary display device instead of the usual 15-pins SVGA computer monitor. Some cards offer dual desktops with one computer monitor and a TV and some configurations even allows simultanious full screen movies on the TV while windowed video playback on the computer monitor. Needless to say that the latter won't be possible on the RPC because we can't play movies on our machine. (I doubt that 'replay' works with overlays) regards, Manu T |
