R-Comp and RCI at SouthWest show this weekend
R-Comp and RCI are pleased to announce some of the new and updated
products that we'll be offering at the SouthWest show this weekend.
First up, we have the new Messenger Pro 4 email software. This was
released as an upgrade to MPro 3 users during January, but we will
have the full CD versions ready for the show, containing v4.06 of
Messenger Pro, documentation, simplified installation (we've made
installing Messenger really easy now). Foreign language spellcheck
dictionaries are also included, as are lots of hints and tips for all
aspects of the software. We've added notes explaining how to upgrade
easily from Marcel and Pluto, too. The CDs will be sent out to
customers who have already ordered them, next week, but you can
collect yours at the show if you are able to come along, and of course
if you have managed to resist Messenger Pro till now you will be able
to purchase the new version at the show. Messenger Pro 4 includes
much more than this, so if you're a new customer, please ask!
Our well respected UniPrint printing software has reached version 2.02
which was sent out last week, and now includes !UniLaunch which is a
utility to make it easy to use UniPrint's file and URL launching
facilities. 2.02 is also recommended to make best use of Messenger
Pro 4's native support for launching via UniPrint (something we find
really useful). Other applications such as Grapevine 2.10 also
support UniPrint natively.
Speaking of which, we are hoping to have Grapevine 2.10 at the show,
although this one may not quite make it.
Finally, we'll have a new version of Hermes (the mail component of
NetFetch2 and DialUp3) which is up to 10 times faster, especially on
large emails. RISCube owners will see even greater speedups, due to
how we work things on RISCube systems. It also adds a number of
smaller features for power-users. This will be sent out to existing
customers before the end of the month.
R-Comp Interactive have been updating the specifications of RISCube
computers, in line with current component prices and stock. The
"standard" RISCube and SpaceCubes will both see faster processors and
twice as much RAM as standard. At the higher end, expect to see
larger hard drives etc. Prices will remain the same, but customers
should see more computer for their money!
