The South West RISC OS show is just around the corner, and in the first part of our preview we look at what is on show from Oregano UK.
Oregano UK Ltd is responsible (with CTL) for bringing the Oregano TV web browser to the RISC OS platform. The latest version - Oregano2 - supports HTML 4, a fair amount of CSS and is the the leading RISC OS browser for JavaScript support.
Oregano 2 will be on sale at the show, we assume at the usual price of 99UKP for a single user licence. Also on show will be the latest version of the Oregan Interactor web browser from which the RISC OS version of Oregano is derived. This however will not be for sale, and will be running on Windows XP.
Finally, Richard from OUK told us that they "will also have Internet access for this show so can look at (quickly) one or two customers problem sites."

I think more people would have been willing to pay it until NetSurf got to the stage it is at now. Also VA users can just switch back to windows to use firefox, so don't need it. |

In case the information is not volunteered by Richard B, he needs IMO to be asked and give frank answers to the following questions: -Is work continuing on porting the latest version of Oregan Interactor to RISC OS? -If so, is it likely to appear during 2005? -If not, what are the reasons (lack of programming resource/money, prohibitive licensing costs etc)? |
