VICE updated to 1.12 and 32bit ready

Posted by The Doctor on 07:44, 10/9/2003 | ,

V.I.C.E. one of the best Commodore emulators there is has been updated again in line with it's other platform releases to version 1.12.
VICE is a multiple platform, Commodore emulator. It emulates;-
  • Commodore 64
  • Commodore 128
  • CBM2
  • Commodore Pet
  • Commodore Plus4 (I came so close to buying one of these!)
  • Commodore Vic 20
  • And also a SID player (for those who like that sort of thing!)
Importantly it's also now ready for use on the Iyonix machine which is quite fortunate really. As the emulator gets more complex and feature rich (it's really quite impressive now) a standard StrongArm machine is only just powerful enough.
As you can see from the frame rate in the screenshot, with some of the more demanding settings enabled, even a Kinetic RiscPC struggles.

Apologies, if this is 'old news' for some of you but I seem to have missed several important pieces of game related news in the last couple of months and am trying to catch up now.
Get the latest version of VICE from Andreas Dehmels website and many thanks to Andreas for keeping VICE up to date.
