What, nobody has anything to say about it? During the "Wednesday" scene, Roger appears to be typing in some kind of Algol 60, rather than as might be expected, BBC Basic.
Also, and if you understand the history of the RISC OS source, Roger was never known for well-formatted, nicely spaced code, as shown him typing on the TV set - look at old versions of ROOL's BBC Basic source for clues about this - and why would he possibly need help with a 5 line BBC Basic program?
The computer magazines that Clive is looking through are just a bit too worn to be convincing.
Ok, just naming problems. It was actually fantastic, especially having lived around many of the locations it was filmed in. |

Yeah, I thought it was quite good. Nice cameo by (the real) Sophie Wilson at the end, too.
I do have to wonder though if Clive Sinclair had the kind of temper he had in the film... I can see him going through a lot of telephones and windows if he has
There was one point where a voiceover clip from a news programme labelled Acorn as the company that makes the Electron, then a few scenes later they were only starting to design the Electron...
But yeah, overll it was good

Well if we're all going to be be pedantic:
I saw a brief shot of two Amstrad CPC464s' at the exhibition where the Atom is being launched.
But I agree it was very good.
For some reason I particularly liked the line "Have you ever tried Austrian wine Chris?" |

Just watched this program at last, on iPlayer (technophobic mother won't buy digital television  ). Did it strike anyone else throughout that Martin Freeman played Chris Curry extraordinarily like Mr. Bean?
Other than that, a pretty good program all around. Disappointing not a word was mentioned about RISC OS, though - is mobile phones really what we've been reduced to? |

No. But some people on another forum did point out that Sir Clive (as portrayed by Alexander Armstrong) did appear to be channeling Davros (the old series version). |

Well come along to ROUGOL's 16th November meeting and you can ask someone who was there - Professor Steve Furber will be giving a presentation on the making of the BBC Micro and ARM chip.
While you are waiting eagerly for that, next Monday's meeting (19th Oct) has Matthew Phillips of Sine Nomine Software, who has come all the way down from Dundee to demonstrate the Impact database.

Does anyone have any comments regarding efficacy of tackling the DRM? Yes; search for an alternative version. They do exist in DRM-free flavours. Legality may vary depending on your jurisdiction. |

The iPlayer desktop download crashed, so I don't have a file to play with However, I did manage to watch it "live" within the 7-day period (and even persuaded my reluctant wife to watch it too). Thanks. |

On a somewhat related note, I just found out (through a friend) about a free proxy app called Expat Shield that is apparently very good for watching the likes of iPlayer while not in the UK. Might come in handy for some. Does not run on RISC OS. |
